Corrosion prevention
OELCHECK Test equipment: Petrotest-Device to test the corrosion prevention from lubricants
Sample quantity needed: 300 ml
Unit: Test passed or failed
Test result: Corrosion prevention in presence of water
Operating time: 24 hours
Analysis of: Lubricants from turbines
Brief description: Two polished rods of steel are dipped for 24 hours into a 60°C hot oil-bath and a water content of 10%.
Afterwards the rods of steel are evaluated with an optical analyse according to the corrosion.
Statement: Due to the investigation a statement according corrosion on the steel surface, in presence of water, can be done.
If both rods are free of corrosion the test has passed.
No corrosion attack to the components is expected.
If both rods of steel are rusty, a corrosive attack to the components, during practical use, in presence of water is expected. The test has failed.
