| OELCHECK Test equipment: | Filtration equipment |
| Sample quantity needed: | 1000 ml |
| Unit: | Dimensionless |
| Test result: | Filterability (Level I, FI and Level II, FII) |
| Result range: | 0 - 100% |
| Operating time: | Max. 2 hours |
| Analysis of: | Hydraulic oil till ISO VG 100 |
| Brief description: | The hydraulic oil is filtered under accurately defined pressure by a dried 0.8 µm membrane. Thereby time and filtrate-volume is recorded. The test is finished after filtration of 300 ml of oil, or latest after 2 hours. The value of level-I-filterability is calculated out of the effective filtration time for 240 ml oil and the filtration time for the same volume of oil without clogging the membrane. The value of level-II-filterability is calculated out of the Flow rates at the beginning end the end of the test. If the result is larger than 60 the test is passed. As closer the result comes to 100 as better is the filterability of the oil. If the result is below 60 the oil is deemed to be “non filterable”. |
| Statement: | With a passed Level-I-filterability, there are no problems expected during operation, as long as there are not used extremely fine filters for oil filtration. With a good Level-II-filterability, there are no problems expected, even under extreme conditions or by using filters finer than 5 µm. |
